Steven "Steve" Edward Bitner

Steven “Steve” Edward Bitner age 56, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Steve was born on Thursday, September 21, 1967, in Harrisburg to Barbara Ann (Keefauver) Bitner and the late Leo Edward Bitner. 

Steve’s survivors include his mother, Barbara Bitner of Shiremanstown, PA; his sister, Lisa Rosenberry and her husband, John, of Mechanicsburg, PA; and his nephew, Hank Rosenberry. 

Steve graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1986 and then from the Thompson Institute. He was a member of the Overview Anglers and won Angler of the Year in 2023. Steve worked for Highmark for over 30 years, most recently as a Member Advising Strategist. He loved fishing and he spent every free moment possible with a fishing rod in his hand. Steve enjoyed playing any one of his many bass guitars. He was a kind man who had a happy-go-lucky spirit. Steve’s love of Aerosmith knew no limits which is evidenced by his collection of memorabilia. He will be dearly missed by those who are fortunate enough to have known him. 

All are welcome to join Steve’s family at his celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance and storytelling at 1:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral & Cremation). Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots. Cremation was private.
