Teresa Grace Shank, 53, of Enola , died at Harrisburg Hospital on Friday, March 15, 2013. She was born in Carlisle, on Tuesday, December 8, 1959, daughter of Grace Gutshall House of Mechanicsburg.
Teresa’s survivors include her father, George Shank and his wife JoAnn of Carlisle; her siblings, Laurie Raines and her husband Jim, Shawn House, Michael House and his wife Rose, Victoria Stone and her husband Paul, Gregory Shank and his wife Adonna, Richard Shank and his wife Esther; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Teresa participated in the Alternatives Program through United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pennsylvania . She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church , Enola. Teresa was involved in Precious Moments , a program for individuals with disabilities. She was a very driven, determined individual, who did not allow her physical limitations to interfere with her ability to live a full and rewarding life. Teresa was wise and quick to offer good sound advice. She loved cats, music and spending time at Camp Sertoma .
All are welcome to join Teresa’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 1:00 until time of service at 2:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Reverend Norman “Skip” Spangler officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to UCP – Community Home Services Program , 925 Linda Lane, Camp Hill, PA 17011. The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone at UCP - Alternatives and UCP - Community Home Services Program who so lovingly cared for Teresa throughout her adult years.
