Terry Eugene Chestnut

Terry Eugene Chestnut (Nov. 2, 1953 - April 18, 2023) of Forest Park Nursing Home in Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday at Harrisburg Hospital. He was the son of Charles and Betty (Murray) Chestnut. He was married to Joan Rishel Chestnut who preceded him in death.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Kelsey and her significant other, KC, as well as 3 granddaughters: Emory, Riley and Adley of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by his son, Lucas of Brandon, FL and in-laws, Lynnea and Charles Bobb of Etters; Scott and Sharon O’Brien of New Cumberland; Kevin and Sharon Rishel of Aaronsburg; as well as nieces and nephews.

Terry was a graduate of Big Spring High School and a veteran of the U.S Navy having served for 6 years as a scuba diver on a Nuclear Submarine during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by Naval Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg until his retirement in 2010.

Terry was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club and Lower Allen VFW 7530. He enjoyed all outdoor activities until his health began to fail.

Terry’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Interment in St. John’s Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
