Twila graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1972. She retired in 2005 from the Cumberland County Office of Aging in Carlisle. All who were lucky enough to have known Twila will remember her as generous, silly, and full of life. She was the person who may have placed a random item in your grocery cart when you were not looking. Twila was feisty and took great joy in resisting rules which is one of the reasons she was known as the “fun aunt”. Always the life of the party, she greatly enjoyed family picnics and trips. “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” was her mantra and is what lead to her title of “Mother Earth”. Strawberry shortcake and peanut butter eggs were staples of her diet and for short bursts of time she actually lived on these delicacies. A joyful soul, she will be greatly missed and forever loved.
All are welcome to join Twila’s family at her Celebration of Life Reception on Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. until her Time of Remembrance & Sharing at 2:00 p.m. with a Committal Ceremony at 3:15 p.m. all at the First Church of God Community Center, 201 East Green Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
