Velma (Bowen) Weaver, age 76, of East Waterford , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died at Hershey Medical Center on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Velma was born on Thursday, June 30, 1938, in Lisburn to the late Arthur V. Bowen and Lillie M. (Kimmel) Bowen. In addition to her parents, Velma is preceded in death by her husband Richard Lee Weaver; and her siblings, Ernest Bowen, Arlene Peffer, Geraldine Witmer, and Marian Fettrow.
Velma’s survivors include her children: Colleen Weaver and her husband Jack Utter of York Haven, Douglas Weaver and his wife Kathryn of York Springs, Jeffrey Weaver and his wife Dianna of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughter Trisha Weaver; her companion of 37 years, Clair Hardy; her step-sons: Doug Hardy of Dillsburg and Dan Hardy of DE; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Velma graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1956 and from Hagerstown School of Nursing in 1958. She was employed at a pediatric medical practice in the Camp Hill area.

Cremation, services, and burial will be private and at the discretion of the family.
