Violet Romaine (Kingsborough) Fearnbaugh

Violet Romaine (Kingsborough) Fearnbaugh, age 89, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away at Forest Park Health Center with family by her side on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Violet was born on Saturday, November 24, 1928 in Mechanicsburg to the late Willis Arthur Kingsborough and Annie (Stone) Kingsborough. Violet was the widow of Joseph “Joe” Samuel Fearnbaugh, whom she married on October 1, 1947, and who died on March 11, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, Violet is preceded in death by her sons: Terry Fearnbaugh and Ronald “Ronnie” Fearnbaugh; her four infant children: Debbie Fearnbaugh, twins Gregory and Barbara Fearnbaugh, and Jill Fearnbaugh; her brother, Robert Kingsborough; and her sister Wilma Hershey.
Violet’s survivors include her son, Patrick Fearnbaugh of Connecticut; her five grandchildren: Daniel Fearnbaugh, Tammy Parthemore, Mark Fearnbaugh, John Fearnbaugh, and Beth Fearnbaugh; her eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Violet was a devoted and active member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg for many years, where she helped create and was active for years with the youth groups. She and her husband, Joe, were hard workers and even built their own home. Violet and Joe were scout leaders for both Cub Scout Pack 333 and Boy Scout Troop 333. She loved gardening and cooking and was known to make the best shoo-fly-cake. Square dancing with her husband was one of Violet’s greatest joys. They danced with Whirl-A-Ways in Carlisle, Continental in York, Shippen Squares in Shippensburg, and Square-Up Campers in Mechanicsburg. They enjoyed camping and traveling, visiting 48 states over the years. Violet’s gentle and loving heart lead her to always be in the service of others, even until the very end. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
All are welcome to join Violet’s family at her viewing on Monday, January 15, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Aaron M. Erdley officiating. Cremation and interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Churchtown will be private and at the convenience of the family.
