Violet Marie (Fearnbaugh) Ritter

Violet Marie (Fearnbaugh) Ritter, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.  Violet was born on Monday, December 6, 1926 in Mechanicsburg to the late George William Fearnbaugh and Hattie Mae (Wagner) Fearnbaugh.  Violet was the widow of Samuel “Sam” McCellan Ritter, whom she married on July 3, 1945, and who died on November 23, 2009.  In addition to her parents and husband, Violet is preceded in death by her son, Samuel E. Ritter; her daughter, Betty A. (Ritter) Arnold; and her two infant granddaughters: Rhoda Liddick and Jessie Snyder.

Violet’s survivors include her two children: Donald “Don” L. Ritter and his wife, Jeanne, of Mechanicsburg, Lois M. Liddick and her husband, Mark, of Zephyrhills, FL; her seven grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Violet was a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God in Dillsburg.

All are welcome to join Violet’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating.  Violet’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory immediately following the service.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dillsburg.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Doug Arnold, Cole Leonowitz, Clifford Liddick, Oscar Peske, Nate Ritter, and William Snyder.
