Virginia Fiore, age 90, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Brooklyn, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Virginia was born on Friday, October 27, 1933, in Brooklyn to the late Michael Fiore and Rose (DiOrio) Fiore. Virginia was the widow of Robert “Bob” Martin Zeichner. In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia is preceded in death by her siblings Robert Fiore, Leonard Fiore, John Fiore, Thomas Fiore, and Jean Fiore.
Virginia’s survivors include her son: Michael Pate and his wife, Cheryl; her three grandchildren: Jessica Morrison and her husband Peter, Justine Bressler and her husband Troy, Jenna Pate; and her four great-grandchildren: Ryan Morrison, Emma Morrison, Ruby Bressler, and Kain Bressler.
Virginia graduated from High School in Brooklyn and attended New York City Community College. She retired from the Brooklyn Public Library after many years of service working as an accountant. Virginia was a member of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Brooklyn. She was a member of St. Charles Jubilee Senior Center and AARP. Virginia loved her hometown of Brooklyn, New York. She especially enjoyed eating out in Park Plaza, as she was not fond of cooking. She loved traveling. Daytona Beach was her favorite destination. As an accountant, she loved her job at the Brooklyn Public Library. Virginia was a passionate grandmother and loved her grandchildren. They were a big part of her life. Virginia will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have been in her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the family’s convenience. Burial will be private.
