Virginia “Ginny” (Beatty) Rosnick
Virginia “Ginny” (Beatty) Rosnick, age 89, of Camp Hill, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, went home on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Ginny was born on Tuesday, July 22, 1930, in Hopwood, PA to the late Gladys (Clement) Beatty and Alvin Beatty. Ginny was the widow of Raymond “Ray” Charles Rosnick, whom she married on February 14, 1957, and who died on March 11, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, Ginny is preceded in death by her four siblings: Louise, Glenn, Donald and Bobby; and her great-grandson John Kurhan.
Ginny’s survivors include her two sons: Mark Rosnick and wife Anna of Shiremanstown, Jeffrey Rosnick and wife Jamie of Pittsburgh; her six grandchildren: Jason, Eric, Jennifer, Ashlea-Anne, Star, Kylin; her five great-granddaughters: Violet, Hailey, Avery, Charlotte, Persephone; and several nieces and nephews.
Ginny graduated from South Union High School as part of the class of 1948. She was a proud homemaker who also worked outside the home for over 40 years in retail pharmacies; starting at Rea & Derick which became People’s Drug Store, and finally CVS Pharmacy. Ginny helped her son Mark get his first job at Rea & Derick when he was 16. Standing at 4’ 11”, Ginny told him two things that left a lasting impression: “Do not embarrass me and show up when you are scheduled.” Ginny was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, where she participated in the women’s group. She volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels. Ginny also belonged to a sorority for 50 years and played cards in a club with her friends. Ginny knew everyone and everyone knew Ginny, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Ginny’s immediate services will be private with public services to be announced when scheduled. Private interment in St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be held at the family’s convenience.
