Virginia “Gini” May (Cline) Powell Creasey, age 91, of The Colony, TX, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, was embraced by her family in Heaven peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Gini was born on Thursday, May 20, 1926 in Mechanicsburg to the late U.S. Grant Cline and A. Keoka (Moyer) Cline. Gini was the widow of George Creasey, who died on May 2, 1978. In addition to her parents and husband, Gini is preceded in death by her five brothers: Eugene Cline, Darnell Cline, Leon Cline, John Cline, and Richard Cline.
Gini’s survivors include her two children: Gary Powell and his wife, Debbie, of Frisco, TX, Donna Emanuel and her husband, Bob, of Florida; her sister, Pauline Jones of Wellsville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Gini retired from The Lutheran Home at Topton in Middletown, after many years of service working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Prior to working there, she lived in Florida where she provided care for an individual in need. Gini then moved back to Pennsylvania where she completed her nursing education and became an LPN. After her retirement, she worked for Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg in the home care department. Gini was a member of the TCL Singers in Mechanicsburg, Red Hat Society, Inc., and in charge of the Widows and Widowers Indeed at Christ Community Church until July of 2012 when she moved to Texas. During her time in Texas, Gini started the Joyful Noise Singing Group while she lived at the Senior Living Center in The Colony. This group created programs for the facility that they put on during the holidays. Gini was an artist, writer, musician, and singer; she was a talented woman who shared her skills with many.
All are welcome to join Gini’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Steve Boyer officiating. Burial in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Contributions in celebration of Gini’s life can be made to any charity of the donor’s choosing.
