Walter “Walt” “Bud” George Rosendale, 88, of Mechanicsburg , died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was born in Connellsville, on Tuesday, August 26, 1924, son of the late Walter Karl Rosendale and Mary (Hartz) Rosendale. Walt was the husband of Mary Lou (Stahler) Rosendale whom he married on March 22, 1947.
Walt’s survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Lou; his children, Bruce G. Rosendale and his wife Patricia Ann of Mechanicsburg, Wayne T. Rosendale and his wife Patricia Ann of Dillsburg; his grandchildren, Kristen L. Rosendale-Eppley and her husband Nazareth of Camp Hill, Ryan P. Rosendale of State College; his siblings, James A. Rosendale and his wife Victoria of Pittsburgh, Mary Lou Nicolazzo of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Among those preceding Bud in death are his five siblings, Robert Rosendale, Kenneth Rosendale, Joe Rosendale, Teresa Mongell and Evelyn Stahle.
Bud graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Connellsville. He retired from UPS in Harrisburg, after 18 years of service working as a master mechanic. Bud was an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He loved to travel with his wife, spending a lot of winters in Bonita Springs, FL. Bud was always laughing and joking around. He was a light-hearted kind soul. Bud’s life was centered around his family.
All are welcome to join Walt’s family at his viewing on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 1:00 until time of service at 2:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Thomas Severin officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
