Musical Passion -

Wayne Richard Stoner, 73, of Mechanicsburg , died on Thursday, October 11, 2012, after a battle with cancer.  He was born in South Hanover Township, on Sunday, June 4, 1939, son of the late Eugene Portner Stoner and Eva Charlotte (Kuntz) Stoner.

Wayne graduated from Hershey High School as part of the class of 1956.  He retired from the Naval Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg.  Wayne was a beloved and very active member of Family Worship Center in Mechanicsburg, where he served as the organist and director of music.  Music was Wayne’s life and his love.  He was an accomplished pianist and organist.  Wayne was a member of and served as the pianist for the Masters Quartet.  Family was of utmost importance to Wayne who was known by his family as the glue that kept everyone connected to each other.  His life-line was his telephone and he knew how to use that telephone.  Wayne is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Wayne’s survivors include his loving brother, Eugene Stoner and his wife Anna Mary of Elizabethtown; his five nieces and one nephew, Renee Molloy of MO, Ronn Marshall of Halifax, Joyce Sitzai of Lebanon, Carolyn Akers of Elizabethtown, Cheryl Brown of NJ, Brenda Warburton of Elizabethtown.  Among those preceding Wayne in death are his brother, Claude Nelson Stoner and his sister Thelma Elizabeth Marshall.

All are welcome to join Wayne’s family at his visitation on Monday, October 15, 2012, from 10:00 until time of memorial service at 11:00 at Family Worship Center , 6780 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, with Pastor Gary L. Zigner and Evangelist Wayne Wheeler officiating.  Burial will be private and at the family’s convenience in Union Deposit Cemetery in Hershey.  Wayne’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the memorial service.

Wayne’s requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be donated to Family Worship Center , PO Box 507, New Kingstown, PA  17072.
