W. Craig Bitner

W. Craig Bitner, a resident at The Gardens of West Shore passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 from complications of the Covid 19 virus.  Craig was born on May 1, 1940 to the late William Early Bitner, Jr. and Elizabeth Craig Bitner. He was a 1958 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School where he was captain of his senior year football team and attended Gettysburg College.  Craig retired from LB Smith with thirty two years of service as a salesman and leasing manager.

Craig was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown, Antique Automobile Club of America and Eureka-West Shore Lodge 302 (32nd degree).  He also volunteered at Healthsouth for several years.

Survivors:  Wife of 54 years, Karin Lee (Bailey) Bitner, brother William E. Bitner III (Nancy) of Hershey, sister Susan B. Bottini (Fred) of Mechanicsburg; two brothers-in law Jeffrey Bailey & Mark Bailey of Mechanicsburg;  two sisters-in-law Brenda Thomas of Enola & Vicki Bailey of Camp Hill; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial service will be held at a later date and memorial contributions may be made to Asana Hospice and Palliative Care, 4813 Jonestown Rd. Suite 201, Harrisburg, Pa. 17109; or St. John’s Lutheran Church, 44 West Main Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011.
