William Jennings Belford

William Jennings Belford, 88, of Mechanicsburg , died at Messiah Village on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He was born in Harrisburg, on Saturday, February 7, 1925, son of the late George Belford and Helen (Lloyd) Belford. William was the widower of Jean (House) Belford to whom he was married for over 50 years and who died on April 1, 2007.
William’s survivors include his daughter, Sharon Wooten and her husband Linn of Mechanicsburg; his granddaughters, Jodi Fawber and her husband Marc of Dillsburg, Kelli Castellano and her husband Mike of Dillsburg; his great-grandsons, Evan and Peyton Fawber and Gage and Brooks Castellano; and his sister, Shirley Knowles of AZ.
William retired from the US Navy with over 21 years of service. He was a WW II and Korean War Veteran . William was a member of the Eureka Lodge # 302 F&AM, Mechanicsburg, Zembo Shrine , and the Mechanicsburg Club . He was an avid Mechanicsburg High School Athletic fan and enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp in McKean County.
Private services will be held in Mechanicsburg Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard .
