William “Bill” Nunn Leachman
Loving and Great Man -
William “Bill” Nunn Leachman, age 75, of Lafayette, LA, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, after a brief but intense battle with colon cancer. Bill was born on Thursday, February 4, 1943 in Valdosta, GA to the late William Gene Leachman and Louise Nunn (Johnson) Leachman. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Leachman.
Bill’s survivors include his three sons: William “Bill” F. Leachman and his wife, Tracie, of Mechanicsburg, Jeffrey “Jeff” Leachman and his fiancé, Jennifer, of Slidell, LA., Karim Al-Shaikhly and his wife Brooke, of Summerville, SC; his six grandchildren: William Jr., Trinity, Keira, Allison, Kamden, Katrina; his one great grandchild: Rory; and his sister: Jan Leachman Owens of North Highlands, CA.
Bill was a great and loving man. He was a father, grandfather, war veteran, and a man of faith. Bill loved his family more than anything; his grandbabies were the light of life. If anyone looked at any picture of him with his grandchildren, the joy can be plainly seen on his face. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force that served in the Vietnam War and received the Louisiana Medal of Honor. He was a loving Pawpaw who will be missed dearly.
All are welcome to join Bill’s family at his viewing on Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Daybreak Church, 321 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Ronald O’Neil officiating. Bill’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the service. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, where military honors will be presented. Honored to be pallbearers are: Karim Alshaikhly, William Leachman, Sr., William Leachman, Jr., and Jeffrey Leachman.
