Zachary “Zach” Lee Peiffer, age 20, of Dover died in a tragic snowmobile accident on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Zach was born on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Timothy “Tim” James Peiffer and Gretchen Lorraine (Taylor) Peiffer. Zach is preceded in death by his three grandparents: Doris “Babby” Taylor, Walter Taylor, and James “Pops” Peiffer.
Zach’s survivors include his loving parents: Timothy “Tim” James Peiffer and Gretchen Lorraine (Taylor) Peiffer of Dover, Pennsylvania; his grandmother, Mary Frances “Nana” Peiffer, of Auburn, Pennsylvania; and his uncle, Bryan Taylor, of Florida.
Zach graduated from Red Land High School as part of the class of 2021 and was studying Diesel Technology at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology with an expected graduation date of May 2024. He and his parents attended Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church. Zach was a young entrepreneur who started his own lawn care business which he called Peiffer’s Lawn Care. He was an apprentice Diesel Technician at Bailey’s Coach in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania where he planned to work full time after graduation. Zach was an incredible swimmer who at age six began swimming with ACWS, then USA Swimming, then Red Land High School where he set and still holds the record for Men’s 100 Butterfly. Zach was also part of a Men’s relay team that holds two relay records. Zach used his talents to help others and became a junior swim coach with ACWS. He had a smile that could light up a room, a loud, contagious laugh, and he was always willing to help others, no matter the time or situation, without hesitation. Zach was an active member of the “717 Outlaws”. He loved participating in truck shows where he proudly displayed his “Patriotic Silverado”. Zach was an avid snowmobile racer and rider since 4 years of age. He looked forward to grass drag racing season in the fall and then anxiously awaited any possible opportunity to ride on the snow. Zach will be dearly missed by his family, his many friends and all those whose lives he touched along the way.
