“Together Again” -
Our Dad passed Friday November 25 th in the comfort of our home. Dad joins our Mom (Judy), who passed April 10, 2021, as they are now together again.
Dad was the ultimate southern gentlemen. He was the most kindhearted
compassionate person, who never met a stranger. Dad could captivate a group with his love of sharing stories of times past, and an occasional off the wall joke, to which we would reply “Dad where did you come up with that!”
We remember asking Dad how he and Mom met. He would smile and share “it was at a filling station (gas station back in the day), I looked over and saw her and her twin sister. I gathered up the nerve to introduce myself and asked her out to the movies.”
The rest is history, and later we became a family of 5. Dad, Mom and 2 sons (Greg and Jim) and a daughter (Eileen).
Our parents were loving and instilled the values, morals, and character that we cherish and respect always.
Dad was also the ultimate salesperson, he fulfilled a career with Frito Lay, and was one of the most successful route salespersons of all time. This was in the day when Dad’s personality, honesty and commitment to his profession would allow him the opportunity to build new business and increase shelf space, while today that’s accomplished with financial incentives. Dad was continually recognized for sales growth success, training of new team members and his favorite part, building displays in his major grocery store accounts.
Dad loved to bowl, camp and fish, and us kids have so many fun memories, and could probably write a comedy series of the shenanigans!
Until we meet again, all of our love and gratitude for all you and Mom did for us Dad.
James’s family has entrusted his care to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.
